Camp Vicente Lim, Calamba City – TWO high-ranking officials of the Communist Party of the Philippines -New Peoples Army -National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee (STRPC) were arrested in Pasay City on Monday.
PRO4A Regional Director, Brig Gen Antonio Yarra applauded the successful arrest of Ernesto Lorenzo and Rosita Celino-Serrano which included in the Most Wanted List – National Level.
Joint elements of RMFB 4A, RID 4A, with support from CIDG 4A, RIU 4A, RID and RMFB of NCRPO, DID of SPD, Paranaque CPS, NICA 4A, 202nd Infantry Brigade, MIG4, ISAFP and 4ISU Air Philippine Army .
The two rebels were arrested together with alias Gigi, whose identity is still subject for verification, went to Pasay City for their vaccination schedule when they were arrested.
Lorenzo alias Adil, NDF Consultant, Executive Committee of CPP/NPA/NDF with two standing warrants of arrest for kidnapping and serious illegal detention and for attempted murder.
While Serrano alias Ester, Bebang, Tonying, Norming and Pola, was the Regional Education and Propaganda Bureau Staff – STRPC and the Secretary of Islam Mindoro, and has pending warrant of arrest for murder with a P5 Million reward.
‘It is but timely that we have arrested these two most wanted personalities of CPP/NPA/NDF that continue to put the nation’s safety in jeopardy with their violent acts and recruitment of our youths. We are just taking steps in securing the upcoming election on May by putting behind bars the possible threats in the region.’, said Yarra.
Meanwhile, the Chief, PNP, Gen Dionardo Carlos has extended to Yarra his appreciation for taking the lead in the fight against local armed conflict and terrorism in the region.
‘Your kind of leadership is worthy of emulation, and to the operating teams thank you for doing your job with diligence and dedication.’, he said.
