Tayag encourages regional directors and medical center chiefs to further improve their performance and work for the achievement of their targets during the 3-day Field Implementation and Coordination Team – North Luzon and Central Luzon (FICT-NCL) Cluster Management Review held in San Fernando City, La Union from August 21-23, 2023
THE Department of Health (DOH) – Field Implementation and Coordination Team – North Luzon and Central Luzon (FICT-NCL) Cluster led by Undersecretary of Health Eric A. Tayag yesterday concluded the three-day management review (MR) for the first and second quarter of 2023 with the guarantee that all the regional offices and retained hospitals under the cluster shall continue to provide the needed essential health service to the public.
“We need to align our priorities and programs under the 8-point action agenda and the national health sector strategy and focus on the directions and policies relevant to the operation of the FICT-NCL,” Tayag stated.
“We shall continue to serve our people, delivering the best quality of health services and develop programs and policies to uplift their health and well-being for a better and Healthy Pilipinas. Our commitment to cater to the health needs of everyone at ‘walang maiiwanan’ will be upheld and together with the FICT-Luzon Team. we can further improve access to primary and specialty healthcare for the benefit of the people in our region,” he emphasized.
The MR provided orientation and updates on the revised DOH-2024-2028 scorecards and roadmap deliverables; OPCR monitoring, rating, and accomplishment report; LHS directions and implementation updates for 2023; FICT-NCL strategic directions and operations; field operation systems management structure; and operation and organizational development on baseline assessment.
The regional offices also presented their office performance target and accomplishment, budget utilization and catch-up plan, procurement performance, COA audit findings, report on clients’ concerns and complaints, organizational development activities, budget proposals and appeals, program priorities, and notable accomplishments on MR-OPV-SIA, Bivalent Covid-19 vaccination, and Super Typhoon Egay response operation report.
DOH-Ilocos Regional Director Paula Paz M. Sydiongco who hosted the event together with the Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center (ITRMC) said that the regional office will further improve and strengthen the implementation of health programs based on the FICT recommendation.
“As we are pushing for reforms towards universal health coverage and health equity it is important that we prioritize health policy and systems that will benefit the people and respond to their needs and concerns,” she added.
The DOH-FICT Luzon is composed of regional offices from Ilocos, Central Luzon, Cagayan Valley and the Cordillera Administration Region including retained hospitals under their care and supervision.
