THE partnership between the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)- Batangas and Odyssey Foundation Inc. for the enhanced nutribun (e-Nutribun) feeding program has been re-launched, benefitting undernourished children in the Municipality of Cuenca, Batangas. The event took place at Cuenca’s Municipal Gymnasium on September 28.
This program marks a significant step forward in addressing child malnutrition in Cuenca, Batangas. Odyssey Foundation, Inc., the social responsibility arm of CDO Foodsphere, Inc., has collaborated with DOST-Batangas to implement this initiative,which has already served the municipalities of Laurel, Talisay, Tingloy, and SanNicolas since 2021. CDO Foodsphere, Inc. adopted the e-Nutribun technology
developed by the Food and Nutrition Research Institute of DOST (DOST-FNRI) forthis program.
The feeding program is scheduled to run from October to December this year, benefiting 100 ‘undernourished’ children in the Municipality of Cuenca, Batangas.
Leading the initiative were Ms. Emelita P. Bagsit, DOST-CALABARZON’s Regional Director, Ms. Felina C. Malabanan, DOST-Batangas’ Provincial S&T Director, Ms.Patricia M. Magbanua, Odyssey Foundation, Inc.’s Executive Director, Hon.Alexander M. Magpantay, Municipal Mayor of LGU-Cuenca, Ms. and Dr. Carolina Cuevas, Municipal Health Officer of LGU-Cuenca.
An official Memorandum of Understanding was also signed to formalize the partnership. The distribution of e-Nutribun to the children beneficiaries was a highlight of the launch ceremony. DOST- Batangas also provided rice-mongo crunchies and complementary food blend to the beneficiaries.
