A WIFE on Tuesday night hacked her husband to death in their home in Murcia, Negros Occidental.
Murcia Municipal Police Station chief Capt. Jerlad Muya identified the victim as Florencio Dela Cruz, 69, of Purok Bug-as, Bgy. Sta. Cruz in Murcia.
The suspect was Florencio’s wife Luzmary, 58.
Luzmary was on her way home, along with her son after gathering woods that they will use to make charcoal, when she heard her other son shouting for help.
The mother rushed to the house and found her husband beating their other son.
She tried to pacify Florencio but he instead beat her and pushed her to the ground.
To prevent her husband from further hurting their son, Luzmary grabbed a bolo and hacked Florencio repeatedly.
The victim died on the spot.
The wife surrendered to responding lawmen and turned over the bolo she used in killing her husband.
The couple’s sons told police that their father always beat them and their mother whether he was drunk or not.
