QUEZON CITY – VARIOUS departments of the Quezon City Government, in coordination with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), launched a citywide Oplan Baklas operation across the city’s six districts.
The initiative aims to remove campaign materials posted in unauthorized areas, in compliance with Quezon City Ordinance No. SP-2021 S-2010, which regulates the placement of election-related posters, banners, and tarpaulins to maintain public order and cleanliness during the election period.
Several key city agencies participated in the operation, including the Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS), Traffic and Transport Management Department (TTMD), Department of Engineering, Task Force Disiplina, Parks Development and Administration Department (PDAD), Department of Sanitation and Cleanup Works, and Task Force Streetlighting.
To ensure the smooth and lawful execution of the operation, each team was accompanied by COMELEC election officers, as well as personnel from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) and the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
Authorities emphasized that Oplan Baklas will continue throughout the election season to maintain clean and orderly streets while ensuring strict enforcement of election laws and local ordinances.
Residents are encouraged to report any campaign materials placed in restricted areas and to support efforts in keeping the city compliant with election guidelines.
