THE Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) shut down the AEROSTRATEGIES INC., an unlicensed firm illegally recruiting aircraft mechanics for employment in the United States on Friday.
Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac ordered the closure of AEROSTRATEGIES INC. after it was found out to be engaging in unauthorized recruitment activities without the necessary license from the DMW.
The closure operation was carried out by the DMW’s Migrant Workers Protection Bureau (MWPB), in coordination with local government authorities, at the company’s office in Mabalacat City, Pampanga. The firm was found luring job seekers with promises of employment in Texas, USA, with a salary of $3,344 (PHP 193,500+), despite lacking the proper authorization.
“We will not allow illegal recruiters to take advantage of our overseas applicants. This firm deceived job seekers by misrepresenting itself as an aviation consultancy. We urge all job applicants to verify the legitimacy of recruitment agencies with the DMW before engaging in any overseas employment offers and fake promises,” Secretary Cacdac emphasized.
AEROSTRATEGIES INC. committed multiple violations, including illegal recruitment, misrepresentation, and operating with a fraudulent business address. The firm’s listed address in San Andres Bukid, Manila, was found to be a transient lodging house, further proving its deceptive practices.
The DMW has also placed the company’s key officers on its blacklist and permanently barred them from participating in any overseas recruitment activities.
Following the closure, the DMW has recommended the cancellation of the company’s business permit in Mabalacat City and the revocation of its Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) registration. The department is also preparing legal actions against the company’s officers.
Victims of AEROSTRATEGIES INC. are encouraged to report their cases to the MWPB through the official hotline (+63 2 8721-0619), email (mwpb@dmw.gov.ph), or Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/dmwairtip) for assistance in filing complaints.
