The Regional Agriculture and Fishery Council of CALABARZON (RAFC-4A) was awarded as Bantay ASF sa Barangay Advocate while the RAFC IV-A Sectoral Committee on Corn, bagged the Outstanding RAFC Sectoral Committee Award on March 24, 2022 in Clark, Pampanga during the celebration of the 7th National Agriculture and Fisheries Volunteers’ Day.
The Philippine Council for Agriculture and Fisheries (PCAF)’s National Volunteers’ Day is an annual event that recognizes the accomplishments of the Department of Agriculture’s private sector partners. This year’s theme “Breakthrough Change-makers: AFCs, Finding Solutions Beyond Limitations” is a proof that the Department has great partners at the national and regional level in the agriculture and fishery development processes in the person of the AFCs.
PCAF OIC-Executive Director, Dr. Liza Battad commended the AFC members, both at the national and local levels as they are the ones working in the communities to help other farmers and fishers cope and recover during the most difficult situations.
“We know from the start that our responsibilities were never easy, but that did not stop you from accepting your roles, instead you embraced the challenge that comes along with them, with the hope of providing a more robust agriculture and fisheries for todays generation and the next,” said Dr. Battad.
In his message, DA Secretary William Dar congratulated all the AFC members and the PCAF for the successful conduct of the event as he likewise led the oath-taking ceremony of the CY 2022 RAFC Chairpersons of each region.
Mr. Pedrito Kalaw, RAFC Chairperson for CY 2021 graced the event for the CALABARZON and also took an oath for the same position for CY 2022.
Mr. Kalaw gave special thanks to the men and women of the DA-4A for continuing to be real partners in agricultural development in the region and for listening and responding to the concerns and suggestions of the private sector.
