
Lipa City, Batangas – THE Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) CALABARZON reported the March 2025 inflation in the region via hybrid press conference on 08 April 2025.
Regional Director Charito C. Armonia announced that the prices of commodities in the region increased by 1.8 percent, lower than the 2.1 percent rise in prices observed in February.
Lower increase in prices for Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages commodity group averaging at 3.6 percent compared to the previous month’s rate of 4.0 percent contributed to the deceleration in the overall inflation rate (IR).
In addition, Transport and Restaurants and accommodation services commodity groups contributed to the decrease in overall IR, with recorded IR of -1.0 and 2.3 percent, respectively.
Likewise, lower increase in prices of commodities were recorded in all provinces and one highly urbanized city of the region.
Quezon posted the highest inflation of 3.4 percent, from 4.3 percent inflation in February 2025. Laguna posted an IR of 2.2 percent, from 2.3 percent in February; City of Lucena at 2.0 percent, from 2.6 percent in February; Rizal at 2.1 percent, from 2.3 percent in February; Batangas at 1.2 percent, from 1. 7 percent in February. Cavite posted the lowest inflation of 1.1 percent, from 1.4 percent in February.
