GOOD news for sari-sari store owners in General Trias City, Cavite.
Mayor Antonio “Ony” Ferrer has approved City Ordinance No. 22-06, which provides exemption to sari-sari stores in obtaining and paying business permit for the year 2022.
The mayor said the move is to help micro bussinesses in the city this time of pandemic.
Around 2,000 sari-sari store owners are expected to benefit from the ordinance authored by councilor Florencio Ayos, chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means and approved by the City Council under Sangguniang Panglungsod chairperson Morit Sison and the 13 city councilors.
Ferrer clarified that although exempted from the business permit, it is necessary for store owners to have a DTI Business Name Registration and Barangay Business Clearance to be qualified for the exemption.
“The ordinance was applicable to all sari-sari stores operating in the city. Store owners must secure village business clearance first,” Mayor Ferrer said.
He said for those who have already paid a business permit, they can avail the exemption next year.
