
TWO terror group members, including an alleged finance officer of the New People’s Army, were arrested by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group during the service of a warrant of arrest in Teresa, Rizal.
Arrested were Valentin Cruz Tolentino alias “Leonardo Batacan/Rogelio Dumlao/Pax/Grande/Norio/Ambet/Ting/Nik/Jim,” and Leonor Taguinod Dumlao alias “Leonor Luis Dumlao/Kikay/ Hannah/ Sudi/Nika/Mira.”
Tolentino is listed as an executive committee (EXECOM) member of the National Finance Commission (NFC) of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army, and a secretary of the NFC who is in-charge in the management of the Party’s fund.
Suspect Dumlao is a member and “KomTek” of the NFC responsible for the administrative needs of the communist group.
The CIDG RFU 4A under regional chief Col. Jacinto Malinao Jr., CIDG Rizal Provincial Field Unit, and other composite teams implemented the search warrant against the suspects at B53, L18, Sorsogon St., Carissa 1, P1, Bgy Prinza, Teresa, Rizal for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.The search warrant was issued by Lucena City Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Agripino R. Bravo.
Confiscated were one Colt M16A1 rifle, one steel magazine for M16 rifle, one round of 5.56 ammunition for cal. 5.56, some 27 rounds of ammunition for cal. 5.56, two improvised explosive device (IED), four assorted rolls of explosive wires, seven assorted identification cards, two cellphones, one unit of Acer Laptop, assorted documents , P416,390 in different denomination and 400 US dollars.
CIDG Director Maj. Gen. Romeo M. Caramat Jr. commended the commitment and courage of the operating teams in the arrest of Tolentino and Dumlao.
