ONE of the priority program of the present administration of City of Sto. Tomas is to provide health services and to promote the well-being of the Tomasinos most especially the vulnerable sector of persons with disabilities (PWDs).
Inline of this the City Government held an activity entitled “PAGKALINGA: Hapunan ng Aksyon Man at Mamumuhunan” A Dinner for A Cause on Friday night.
The proceeds of the said program will be intended for PWDs diagnosed with celebral palsy, cancer, hydrocephalus and those who undergo dialysis.
During the program all Sangguniang Panlungsod Members headed by City Vice Mayor Catherine Jaurigue-Perez were given a chance to express their gratitude to all the companies representative present at the said event. City Mayor Atty. Arth Jhun A. Marasigan also address their partners the reason why dinner for a cause was born. According to the mayor during the past days and month of him going around every corner of the City of Sto. Tomas ( barangays ,,subdivisions, sitios and houses ), he personally seen the situation and talk to the people with illness and patient who has celebral palsy, cancer, hydrocephalus and patients in dialysis.
He said he saw parents with children suffering with celebral palsy, mother’s who barely take a bath even go out of the house to a sari-sari store “ hindi nila maiwanan ang kanilang anak ,duty sila 24/7. Maghapon nilang bitbit sa kanilang mga bisig ang kanilang anak na wala ng pag-asa na mabuhay ng normal dahil sa kanilang sakit.” he also added “. Because of that the mayor said it will be his advocacy to help most especially those with celebral palsy.
Marasigan extentend his heart felt gratitude to all investors/partners who supported and help make the event successful. He said “ Dahil po sa inyong suporta kaya ang proyektong eto ay naging makatutuhanan. Buhat sa isang imahinasyon na nilgyan ninyong lahat ng kulay. Dahil po sa inyo nagkakulay po ang pangarap kung black and white lang dati. Aking babaunin sa aking puso at isipan ang makabuluhang araw na eto kasama po kayong lahat”.
He also assured them that the proceeds of the event will go directly to the intended beneficiaries and that they will be transparent in dispersing the amount they collected.
The event was attended by more than 100 companies from inside and outside the City of Sto. Tomas.
February is also the birth month of Sto. Tomas City Mayor Atty Arth Jhun A. Masigan and according to him he wants to celebrate his first birthday as mayor and public servant with meaning by helping people those who in need mostly the Tomasinos. ()
