DOH emergency health teams from Ilocos Sur assisting residents and providing health commodities in evacuation centers during STS “Ofel” and “Nika”.
THE Department of Health (DOH) – Ilocos Region today mobilized all emergency health teams in the provinces and alerted public health facilities to go on Code White to respond in case of any health emergency that can be brought about by Severe Tropical Storm (STS) “Pepito”.
Regional Director Paula Paz M. Sydiongco assured that local emergency teams including disaster risk reduction management centers (DRRMCs) have assessed possible risks and hazards and considered appropriate preparedness and response activities in their areas.
“Residents are advised to stay tuned to reports from PAG-ASA and announcements from their local government units. Take all the necessary precautions for Super Typhoon “Pepito” to be safe.”
“We also encourage everyone to promptly report any incidents that may occur in their respective areas for the prompt rescue and delivery of emergency medical services,” Sydiongco emphasized.
“Maging alerto at makinig sa mga babala ng inyong mga lokal na pamahalaan at lumikas ng maaga kung kinakailangan at magpunta kaagad sa pinakamlapit na evacuation center upang mas maging ligtas,” she added.
The regional office has already prepositioned emergency commodities including medicines to all provincial health offices.
All health concerns in evacuation centers were assessed and taken care of and provision of appropriate technical assistance will be provided if needed.
