DEPARTMENT of Health (DOH) – Ilocos Region consecutively opened two (2) super health centers (SHCs) in Western Pangasinan on February 28, 2025 in Bani and Anda to provide primary health care access to residents in these far-flung rural areas of the province.
Construction for the SHCs started last year and was funded through the DOH – Health Facility Enhancement Program (HFEP).
Regional Director Pula Paz M. Sydiongco said that the two facilities will provide primary care, early disease detection, minor surgical procedures, diagnostic services and vaccination including maternal and child care.
Sydiongco added that residents needing specialized and higher levels of care will be referred to the nearest DOH hospital for proper care and treatment.
The Super Health Center is the bridge that fills the gap between the rural health unit and the hospital offering health services such as outpatient care, birthing care, isolation areas, diagnostic services with laboratory tests, X-rays, and ultrasounds, pharmacy services, ambulatory surgical units including database management of patients.
