The DOST-Quezon conducted the Installation and Test Run of Operation of DODST-FPRDI Dryer for Technology Adoption and the Training on Operation and Maintenance of Dryer for Non-Wood Materials for San Quintin Multi-Sectoral Organization (SQMSO) last March 22-24, 2022 at the SQMSO Production Facility, Brgy. San Quintin, Calauag, Quezon.
The activity was conducted to facilitate the installation and test run of operation of the DOST-FPRDI non-wood dryer for technology adoption for the Approved 2021 DOST GIA-CBP Project of SQMSO; and to conduct a training on operation and maintenance of dryer for non-wood materials to provide the officers and members of the organization the knowledge and skills on how to use, operate, and maintain the equipment for the drying of bamboo critical in their production bamboo straws and bamboo handicrafts.
Engr. Wency H. Carmelo, Senior SRS of DOST-FPRDI, served as the resource person/speaker for the training and supervised the equipment installation and test run, while four other DOST-FPRDI technical staff facilitated the activity, with Jan Kimwell G. Alpay, PA II/Project Focal Staff of DOST-Quezon.
Ms. Maria Esperanza E. Jawili, Provincial S&T Director of DOST-Quezon, was also present to monitor the installation and test run of the DOST-FPRDI Non-Wood Dryer.
San Quintin Multi-Sectoral Organization (SQSMO) is the beneficiary of the 2021 DOST GIA-CBP Project titled “Enhancement of Bamboo Products of San Quintin Multi-Sectoral Organization (SQMSO) through adoption of DOST-FPRDI Bamboo Processing Technologies.”
