
THE Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said that the ongoing repair of the defective runway has caused the cancellation of several flights bound to Cotabato Airport.
The CAAP, in a statement, said it released a notice to airmen (NOTAM) in connection with the repair and asphalt overlay at the Cotabato Airport runway from June 21 to August 18.
“The CAAP is asking for understanding to all affected passengers and airlines operations,” the CAAP statement read.
The CAAP also relayed the following in its NOTAM: In Runway 10 Landing/Take-off allowed for Code C and Lower Category (except Airbus) from 7 a.m. to 11:59 a.m.; Runway 10 closed from 12 noon to 5 p.m.; Runway 28 closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m..
As a result, Philippine Airlines cancelled some of its flights for the duration of the repair.
