A CORRESPONDENT of People’s Journal in Nueva Ecija on Saturday night cheated death when the car he was driving plunged into a rice field in a freak accident in General Natividad town.
The self-accident involving Steve Gosuico occurred in Bgy. Talabutab Sur at about 10 p.m. on Saturday.
The accident happened shortly after Gosuico took part in a media fellowship-cum-dinner party earlier hosted by 7th Infantry Division commander Maj. Gen. Andrew Costelo for officers and members of the Kaugnay Media Defense Corps. Inc. at the Fort Magsaysay military camp.
Gosuico was driving a Toyota Vios sedan on his way home to San Jose City when after negotiating a sharp curve, the vehicle suddenly fell off the road and dove into a rice field.
Responding residents led by barangay chairman Roden Byrne “RB” Sagun and his men helped Gosuico get out of the vehicle.
The Journal correspondent was unharmed but his car, particularly the front and under bumpers, incurred damages. Justine Rich Talusan
