San Fernando City – PORMAL nang binuksan ang kauna-unahang pet cemetery sa lungsod na ung saan ay maaring magpalibing ang mga “fur parents” ng kanilang “fur babies” o mga alagang aso o pusa kung sila ay namatay na.
Ang pagbubukas ng per cemetery ay bilang paggunita sa National Pet Day. Ito ay matatagpuan sa San Fernando City, La Union Botanical Garden.
Ang City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) ay naglaan ng 1,000 square meters mula sa 55-hectare botanical garden upang maging libingan ng mga namatay na aso at pusa na rehistrado sa syudad.
“To avail of the cemetery’s services, one must plant a native guava tree and bougainvillea at the burial ground when burying a pet”, ayon sa CENRO.
“Native guava trees thrive in forests and their dense foliage provides habitat and food for birds, insects, and small mammals, while the roots can improve soil health. Bougainvillea, on the other hand, holds a special place in the heritage of La Union province, having been declared as the provincial flower”, paliwanag pa ng CENRO.
Ang Chamber of Commerce and Industry of La Union, Association of Tourism Industries and Networks, Micro Small and Medium Enterprise Development Council, city government of San Fernando, and the La Union City Environment and Natural Resources Office at Veterinary Office aya nagtulong-tulong upang ang proyektong ito ay maisakatuparan.
