PNP opens 1st cybercrime office in region 1

Dagupan City – The Philippine National Police – Regional Office 1 opened the first Anti-Cybercrime Unit in Dagupan City, the first in Ilocos Region.

The office of the Anti-Cybercrime Unit was inaugurated last Monday at the People’s Astrodome which also the home of the Pangasinan Provincial Cyber Response Team.

PCol. Domingo Soriano, Chief of Operation Management Division said that the cybercrime unit was made possible with the support of the Pangasinan Provincial Office and the City Government of Dagupan.

“Ang opisinang ito tutugon sa mga reklamo at pangangailangan ng mga Pangasinense ukol sa iba’t ibang krimen at insidenteng nagyayari online. Ito ang opisinang maaaring pagsumitehan ng kanilang reklamo ukol sa cybercrimes at cyber-related incidents.”
