
Laoag City, Ilocos Norte – SECURITIES and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairperson Emilio B. Aquino together with Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc formally opened the commission’s first extension office in Northern Luzon, located on the 5th floor of the Dap-Ayan Commercial Center in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte on January 9, 2025 .
Chairperson Emilio B. Aquino said that the new office provide ease of doing business and ensure a robust investor protection as well as financial literacy to its clients in the province. “It will also boost the economic performance of the provinces of Ilocos.”
The SEC Laoag will accommodate the registration, compliance processes, and other SEC-related transactions of businesses across Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of services.
It will also facilitate the Commission’s investor protection and education programs to safeguard businesses against scams and other fraudulent schemes.
Governor Manotoc, for his part, welcomed SEC and assured that the provincial government of Ilocos Norte will provide support for all the endeavors of SEC in the province.
