
Calamba City, Laguna –THE Spiritual Academic Reading for Kids (SPARK) program recently held a dynamic and enriching activity for childrenj aged 7 to 15 years old at Brgy. Masili, Calamba City, Laguna.
This initiative was a collaborative effort led by the dedicated teachers from Castor Alviar National High School (CANHS) and the Sangguniang Barangay Masili, under the visionary leadership of Hon. Councilor Leah Pomasin, Chairperson of the Committee on Education, and with the steadfast support of Brgy. Chairperson Hon. Rohnell Malabanan, as part of the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC).
The event showcased a variety of engaging and educational activities aimed at fostering the spiritual and academic development of young participants. These activities included:
1. Faith Literacy Session
2. Storytelling Session led by Ms. Noimie Corral
3. Coloring Contest facilitated by Mr. Joven Mendones and Mr. Tomas Corral
4. Fun and Interactive Games
5. Distribution of Educational Reading Materials
6. Feeding Program
A highlight of the program was the inspiring messages delivered by Hon. Leah Pomasin, on behalf of Hon. Rohnell Malabanan, Hon. Councilor Cristopher Apacionado, and Jhulia Trollano, BCA President, which inspired and motivated the SPARK beneficiaries.
Additionally, Ms. Cleofe de Asis from the Christian Bible Church led a meaningful Community Gospel, fostering a sense of faith, unity, and inspiration among the attendees.
In his message, Hon. Rohnell Malabanan expressed deep gratitude for the fruitful partnership with CANHS, recognizing the program’s significant role in promoting children’s growth, particularly in their spiritual journey through learning the Word of God.
