RESIDENTS of Calasiao can now look forward to faster, more accessible, and community-based healthcare services following the inauguration of the town’s new Super Health Center located in Brgy. Dinalaoan, another milestone in strengthening primary healthcare delivery in Pangasinan.

The newly inaugurated facility, established through the continuing partnership between the Department of Health – Ilocos Center for Health Development, local government units, and national partners, is expected to significantly improve access to essential medical services for residents, particularly those in underserved and vulnerable communities.

Designed to bring healthcare services closer to the people, the facility will offer primary care consultations, laboratory services, maternal and child healthcare, immunization, tuberculosis screening, non-communicable disease management, and other preventive health programs aimed at reducing the burden on hospitals while promoting early detection and treatment.

The inauguration highlighted the government’s continued commitment to advancing Universal Health Care by strengthening healthcare facilities at the grassroots level.

Paula Paz M. Sydiongco emphasized that the opening of the facility represents more than just infrastructure development — it symbolizes hope and improved health opportunities for communities.

“This facility is a major step toward ensuring that quality healthcare becomes more accessible to every family, especially those in far-flung and underserved areas. Through strengthened primary healthcare services, we are empowering communities and bringing government health programs closer to the people who need them most,” Sydiongco said.

She further noted that investing in local health infrastructure remains a vital strategy in addressing health inequities and improving health outcomes across the Ilocos Region.

The Super Health Center initiative is part of the national government’s broader healthcare agenda to expand access to quality outpatient services, decongest hospitals, and strengthen preventive and promotive healthcare systems at the community level. The facility was made possible through the Department of Health – Health Facility Enhancement Program for 2025, with the steadfast support and initiative of Maria Rachel J. Arenas in championing accessible healthcare infrastructure for Pangasinenses, as well as the generous donation of the project site by Wilfredo I. Decena, whose contribution helped turn the vision of bringing quality healthcare closer to the people of Calasiao into reality.

Local officials and health workers also welcomed the facility as a game-changing development for Calasiao residents, particularly for patients who previously had to travel long distances for basic diagnostic and consultation services.

With the new health center now operational, residents are expected to benefit from more convenient healthcare access, earlier disease detection, improved maternal and child health services, and stronger community health interventions.
